Travel New Year's Resolutions
Take a solo trip
Our first New Year’s Resolution is to take a solo trip. Taking a solo trip is something that everyone should do at one point, so why not put it on your list for this year? It gives you the chance to go where you want, do what you want to do, and spend time by yourself as you explore a new place.
Take a girls trip
Next is to take a girls trip! Girls trips are always the most fun trips, but not always the easiest trip to coordinate with everyone’s different schedules. That’s why it is the perfect resolution to add to your New Year’s list to put it on paper and make an intentional effort to take a girls trip this year!
Visit a new domestic place
Every year I strive to visit at least one new place in my country. There’s so much to see in the United States aside from my goals to visit every state and every U.S. National Park. The perfect resolution for your travel resolutions.
Visit a new international place
Similarly to the above, I also try to visit at least one new international place every year. While this isn’t always the easiest trip to take, it’s always on my list for the New Year. My first international trip was to Paris, France and I haven’t looked back since!
Be a tourist in your own city
Next is to be a tourist in your own city! This is something I always strive to do. It’s hard to think of exploring your own city as a vacation or adventure, but if you’re like me, you rarely visit local museums or spend the weekend in a tourist area. For me, this was finally visiting Barataria Preserve just south of New Orleans.
Go camping
I can’t say I’ve gone camping since I was very little, but I’m always up for a new adventure. Add “go camping” to your New Year’s Resolutions this year!
Take a road trip
One of my personal favorite kinds of trips are road trips. You have the freedom to drive and explore where you want and when you want. Some of my greatest trips have been road trips and if you haven’t taken one before I highly recommend it, more specifically check out this U.S. Southwest Road Trip that brings you through 3 national parks and 3 Route 66 towns.
Take a tour group trip
One of my weaknesses when it comes to traveling is finding friends who have the same vacation as me, the monetary funds to take a trip, and what to do and see the same things I want to. That’s where tour group trips come in! Add this to your New Year’s Resolutions. You can travel with groups through EF Ultimate Break or Contiki or if you follow any Instagram travelers like I do, a couple offer their own travel group trips.
Start a travel journal
Aside from all of the trips is to document them! Start a travel journal to be able to revisit some of your greatest memories.
Share your travel adventures!
Lastly is to share all of your adventures! Whether that’s through posting images you’ve taken on Instagram, starting a blog, or vlogging on your own YouTube channel. It’s great being able to share what you’ve done, where you’ve been, and the things you’ve learned along the way.
Cheer to traveling, adventures, and your new New Year’s Resolutions! What is your favorite resolutions or do you have any more to add? Leave it in the comments below!
