Gift Guide for Photographers
First up is the Canon M50 is a mirrorless digital camera and is great for beginners, for vlogging, and just about everything else. It’s affordable and still has the features to build a great foundation of photography skills. I have been having mine for almost a year now and love it!
Next is a gift for those adventure packed trips where you want to take some pictures. I take with me my GoPro Hero 5 Black. While there are a few newer models of the GoPro out, this one is still up to par for it’s skills. Such a tiny camera with amazing capabilities! Below is one of the newer models, the HERO8!
Camera Straps
The camera straps that come with cameras aren’t exactly the most comfortable or even pretty. A great gift to get photography lovers is a new camera strap! Check out a couple of them below! Both come in multiple different colors!
This tripod has it ALL! I absolutely love it. It extends up to 77”, flips upside down for macro photography, transforms into a monopod, and has a hook underneath to hang your camera bag for extra stability, plus more! It is extremely sturdy, light weight, and has a 360 degree ball head.
This tripod is small and packable making it perfect for traveling or vlogging. It has 3 flexible legs that you can wrap around nearly any object. You can use it for your camera or it also comes with an attachment to clip in your phone. And it’s less than $30!
Without a memory card for our devices, what are we really doing? I use SanDisk 128GB memory card. I mean, the bigger the better, right? Well known brand, hasn’t failed me yet, it’s a pretty easy choice.
Does any one else live with the constant struggle of running low on memory and space to keep all of your photos and videos!? I know I do! After doing tons of research and asking for recommendations, I finally got the WD Elements drive (5TB) and it’s amazing not having to worry about storage anymore!
With my WD Elements External Hard Drive, I ordered a case to put it in. The case linked below is only $12.99! It’s a hard cover with a felt-like material on the inside to protect the hard drive. You can also store the wire and any memory cards. It does have the ability to store 2 external hard drives, but it makes it harder to store the other things I mentioned. I only intend to have one external hard drive so this case is perfect for me!
My ring light doesn’t necessarily travel with me, but it is such an amazing tool for pictures! It is a 10” ring light with 3 light settings, dims and brightens, and best of all comes with a Bluetooth remote for iOS or Android for remote shooting. Another reason why I listened this in my travel tech is because it comes on a 50” extendable tripod that you can attach to your camera as well. Now this is not a top-of-the-line, sturdy tripod, which is why I bought the one mentioned above, but it gets the job done!
I bought this super simple, super cheap (less than $15) camera bag (left) to keep my gear in while I’m at home. It’s big enough to hold my camera, lenses, and extra batteries. The second camera bag is a back pack style better used for traveling. Either bag is perfect for photographers.
When I first got my camera I ordered some extra batteries for it. They are cheap and come in a set of two and well, all I can say is, you get what you pay for. They don’t stay charged very long, but I use them as a backup, not a primary, so they work just fine for me! What I do like about these batteries is you don’t need an outlet to charge them like you do the standard Canon M50 battery. This battery charger can be used with only a USB port, so it has its bonuses.
